Manchester City Hit by Aguero Blow

Play Sensible Soccer Slot Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini, has revealed that in-form striker Sergio Aguero could be sidelined for up to two months with his calf injury.

The Argentinean striker was forced off with the injury during the second half of City’s sensational 6-3 victory over Arsenal, with the problem now set to rule Aguero out of action until the New Year.

Aguero has been in sparkling form this season, scoring 19 goals before Christmas and establishing one of the Premier League’s most prolific strike partnerships alongside Alvaro Negredo, combining for 32 of City’s goals in all competitions since the start of the season.

While the injury was initially only expected to keep Aguero on the sidelines for a couple of weeks, reports from the football betting on the sporting websites suggest that the striker could be missing from City’s first team for up to eight weeks, making the forward a major doubt to face Barcelona in the last-16 of the UEFA Champions League.

"The doctor has said he has at least one month or eight weeks. We will see. I am not a doctor. It is very difficult. I don't how many weeks but it will be at least one month. It is very difficult to know at this moment how many weeks it can be,” said the Chilean tactician.

Fans who bet on football know that losing Aguero at this stage of the year will be a huge blow to City’s title hopes this season, but there is more than enough talent at Pellegrini’s disposal to get through the busy festive period.

Edin Dzeko has impressed whenever he’s played this season, scoring nine goals in all competitions despite the striker’s limited first team chances this season.
